Shikanosuke Maejima is a student at the Missionary school, Oubi Academy. He doesn't attend his club, he doesn't put much effort in his studies, all he does is show up at his part time job; in short, his life could be better. One day, he meets a strange girl, Kirari Shiino, at work and before he knows it, they've formed a punk band. The band consists of Shikanosuke, Kirari, his childhood friend Chie Isurugi, and a rich but weak young lady by the name of Sarina Kashiwara. The four of them are members of the Second Literature Club, which has hardly any active members and is already scheduled to be disbanded. This band is their chance to stand out and give one final farewell at the Culture Festival. The challenge was foolhardy, but after eccentric training they managed to succeed and rock out the peaceful Oubi Academy with their debut performance. That should have been it. They were satisfied. They should have returned to their normal lives. However, their final performance at a local Live House became a hit on the Internet and requests for their performance start flying in from far and wide. One problem: exams are coming up and their parents are opposed to the band! Who cares! The four of them embark on their final adventure, a long tour of Japan, armed with their dreams and their instruments, all aboard a rickety van that could fall apart at any moment. Overdrive's final project. Kei used to attend a famous high school with aspirations of one day becoming a doctor like his parents, but he stopped for a term due to certain reasons and is now studying part-time. While his journey had become more difficult, it was still possible to get back on track. However, after meeting many different types of people that he had not previously encountered and realizing that there was so much in the world that he did not know, he began to question what future he truly desired. After receiving a prize from a city-wide competition for a short story that he wrote, he was asked by Yagihara, the president of a music production, to accompany their band on their upcoming tour and write a report about the event. The band was Kachoufuugetsu, which once performed on the big stage. Its leader Korekiyo is quite a peculiar fellow and talked at length about how music was pointless and good for nothing. Even though Kei was perplexed about Korekiyo, he was taken away by the band’s music when he heard it for the first time. A few days later after that memorable first live, Kei found out that they were disbanding. Unable to accept the sudden news, he approached Korekiyo many times to convince him to change his mind, but no argument could sway him. Instead, Korekiyo asked him: “How about you play rock in my place?” [From Hau~ Omochikaeri~!]

This is an after story of Kira Kira. It has two parts: First and Second Stage First stage concentrates on hotblooded young guy named Souta Honda. He loved two things in this world: rock and his childhood friend Yui Hoshimoto. But attempts to improve relations with both always turned out a total disgrace for him. After one more fail he promised Yui that he'll form his own band and became "bright like the sun" to make her love him... Second stage is, in a way, a continuation both for Souta's story and original Kira Kira story. It tells about preparations for the large concert celebrating the 5th anniversary of Murakami's group, Happy Cycle Mania and bonds all old and new characters together.
